Eric Russell is a Paralympic athletics competitor from Australia.
He won three gold medals and a silver at the 1976 Toronto Games, with golds being earned in the Men's Discus 3, Men's Pentathlon 3 and Men's Shot Put 3 events. The silver was in the Men's Javelin 3 event.[1] In the discus competition, he set a world record. In winning the discus gold medal, he first rejected it because of politics being injected into the Games. The following day, he changed his mind and accepted the medal.[2]
Russell is involved with disability athletics. He has served in several positions including as a coach, sport administrator, sport event director. He also serves as an international Paralympic classifier in athletics.[3]
